Currently Fisura has been considered one of the best independent festivals in Mexico and Latin America for its meticulous curatorial work as well as for its quality programming.

In 2021 Fisura was included by emeritus professor and experimental film pioneer, Gwendolyn Audrey Foster in her Top 15 best experimental film festivals in the world (Magazine – Sense of Cinema).
