DIRECTOR STATEMENT

AND I MAINTAIN is, following the poetry film ACTUALLY, THIS IS NOT A FILM (2018), my second collaboration with the Ulm-based poet Marco Kerler. As with our first film together, I have once again worked with old Kodak Ektachrome film stock and a rare Logmar Super 8 camera, which allows for exceptional detail. Filming took place in Chemnitz, the German city that was the European Capital of Culture in 2025. I processed the film stock myself by hand. The music is by the Koblenz-based musician Carlos Ebelhäuser.
